ACAA Athletes of the Week: Marley Curwin and Jaxon Smith

ACAA Athletes of the Week: Marley Curwin and Jaxon Smith

Congratulations to this week's ACAA Athletes of the Week!

Marley Curwin, MSVU Mystics

Academic Program: Masters of Applied Human Nutrition

Year: 5

Varsity Sport: Women's Basketball

Hometown: Halifax, NS

Marley helped lead her team to two home victories with her solid all-around game. Her efforts both on defense and offense were outstanding. She combined, over the two games, to average 16 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Her ball pressure forced several turnovers by the visiting team and her timely rebounding on both ends provided the leadership to help move the Mystics to a 4-1 record on the season and a tie for first place overall in the conference.

Jaxon Smith, MSVU Mystics

Academic Program: General Studies

Year: 5

Varsity Sport: Men's Basketball

Hometown: Beechville, NS

Jaxon helped the Mystics in both wins over the weekend. Jaxon had 18 points Saturday, and led the team Sunday with a game-high 27 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals.
