Dal AC Rams are pleased to announce their badminton coaches heading into the 2023-2024 season
Join us in welcoming Caitlin McCavour as the new Head Coach, and Andrew Harding as Assistant Coach.
McCavour is an alumni of the Dalhousie Agricultural Campus ('17) and currently works in agriculture, assisting campus researchers on various projects.
During her time at Dal, she was part of the badminton team for three years. After graduation, she took on the role of assistant coach. After three years, she re-joined the team, qualifying for CCAA Nationals in mixed doubles this past season.
Caitlin is the current assistant coach of Team Nova Scotia for the North American Indigenous Games. In addition to badminton, Caitlin has coached community soccer and hockey.
Her goal as Head Coach will be to increase the competitiveness of Dal AC badminton at the Atlantic and National levels, while encouraging a fun team atmosphere.
Andrew Harding, the program's new asssistant coach, has spent the past 20 years representing Badminton Nova Scotia as both an athlete and coach, dedicating much of his post-secondary life to the sport.
As a 12-time Provincial and 5-time Atlantic champion, he has had the privilege of competing against the country's top athletes up until his last international tournament in 2016 where placed 4th at the Americas Masters Games.
After coaching the 2015 Nova Scotia Canada Games team and 27 Recreational and competitive badminton camps for Dalhousie University, between 2011-2023, he is keen to share his knowledge as a Level 3 Badminton coach with athletes looking to take on the country's best in the ACAA and CCAA.
