The first of two semi-final games saw the Holland College Hurricanes surge past the Mount St. Vincent University Mystics 93-79.
Jace Colley led the way for the Hurricanes with 33 points and 11 rebounds.
After a high paced first quarter saw the Hurricanes jump out to a 25-15 lead, third year guard Ashton Slawter, who was named ACAA 2nd Team All-Star, took over for the Mystics, dropping 13 points in the quarter and giving the Mystics the lead going into halftime, 43-42.
The third quarter, however, belonged to ACAA Rookie of the Year and 1st Team All-Star Colley, who had 17 points in the quarter to help restore the Hurricanes lead.
The Mystics did their best to hang around with the #2 team in the country, but the closest they could get was within nine points. Slawter finished the game with a team high 20 points.
The Hurricanes will face the Mount Allison University Mounties or Crandall University Chargers (winner of game 8) for the ACAA banner Sunday at 3:30.
