MONCTON, NB - Playing their home opener at Harrison Trimble High School the Chargers fell to the UNBSJ Seawolves 2-1.
The Chargers and Seawolves had an uneventful first half, with neither team able to convert any of their scoring opportunities.
Stefan Jonnsson broke open the scoring for the Seawolves almost immediately to open the second half, finding the back of the net in the 47th minute. Pierre Ekotto Mebande added to the Seawolves total in the 67' minute of play.
Luke Knowles was the lone goal scorer for the Chargers, burying the ball into the top corner off a long free kick.
With five minutes left in regulation time a collision between Chargers, Micah Crummey and Seawolves Goalkeeper, Dyal Wornell turned into a team wide skirmish resulting in a bevy of cards being issued.
The Chargers will have a shortened bench on Sunday against STU with Crumney and Christian Sheen facing one game suspension.
