Holland college hurricanes (3rd seed)and UNBSJ Seawolves (6th)kicked off the ACAA championships with and exciting opening game. The first half was a back and forth battle with UNBSJ taking a surprising lead into the intermission. The second half intensity was a little too much for the 6 th place team as Holland Hurricanes began to pull away by upping their defense and offensive rebounds. A solid performance from #5 Ashley Plaggenhoef with 23 points and coming off the bench with an impressive 18 points was #6 Sophie Atkinson led the way for Holland. UNBSJ's #3 Julia Bennett playing all but one minute of the entire game (14 points ) and #10 Jillian McNally added 17 points.

Players of the game for the Seawolves was #10 Jillian McNally and for the Hurricanes was #5 Plaggenhoef.

The Hurricanes move on to face the MSVU Mystics tomorrow, Saturday March 7th at 2 in the semi final game.
