The second season started roughly for the visiting team today from Saint John as the UNBSJ Seawolves ran into a team that was playing their fourth game since returning after the Christmas break. The Mystics scored 29 points in the first quarter and followed that up with 37 in the second to lead at half 66- 23. The Mystics shot the ball well from all three areas, ourside the arc, inside the arc and at the free throw line. Top scorer for the Mystics was Victoria Strickland went 4 for 4 from the three point line and 6 for 6 from the free throw line and ended with 30 points. Chlow Oxner add 8 point and 8 boards, Kat Khorovets had an efficient game adding 16 points in 14 minutes of play, Alisha McNeil added 12 points 5 steals and 5 rebounds and Amanda Pearcey added 7 assists to go with 10 points. The Seawolves were led by Ava Smith with 11 points and 7 rebounds and Jaelyn Power who came off the bench and scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. The pace of the game favoured the Mystics from start to finish. The Mystics will play on the road next weekend at Mount Allison and the Seawolves travel accross the city to hook up with the UKC Bluedevils tomorrow, Jan 22.
