Mystics Survive an early Hurricane

Host MSVU Mystics gave up an uncharacteristic 28 points in the first quarter but gained control of the game late at the end of the first half by going on a 10-3 run. The third quarter the defensive intensity continued to surge and for the Mystics and they continued to build on their lead by winning the third by 12 by causing multiple turn overs by the Hurrricanes that lead to transition free throuws and threes. Early into the fourth the script stayed the same with Hurricane turn overs and the Mystics capitolizing on them in transition. Multiple double point scorers for both squads in this high scoring affair. For the Hurricanes, they were led by Lauren Armstrongs 22 points, follwed by Amy Plaggenhoef and Alexa Rancourt's 13 each nad off the bench Robyne Driscoll scored 14. For the Mystics, Nikki Arseualt had 22 follwoed by Amanda Pearcey with 17, and player of the game for the Mystics Hannah Fuller had 14 off the bench. It was Fuller who provided a huge spark for the team as she came in shooting and never stopped helping the Mystcs secure the victory. 

The Mystics play next Friday agianst their cross town rivals UKC Blue Devils while the Hurricanes play UKC tomrrow at 2:30.
