St Thomas Tommies Break Losing Streak Against Holland Hurricanes

Fredericton, NB The St. Thomas Tommies faced off against the Holland Hurricanes, emerging victorious with a final score of 69-53 at Lady Beaverbrook Gym, breaking their losing streak.

STU started strong, hitting back-to-back threes, with Paige Leblanc and Amy Plagenhoef making notable contributions in the first period. The second period saw a resurgence from Holland, narrowing the gap on the scoreboard.

"It feels good, we struggle a little bit, but it's a really good win for us," Kylee Roi said

The action continued into the third period, with both teams battling it out in a tied game. 

STU managed to regain the lead in the start of the fourth quarter with a 46-40 advantage. With just three minutes remaining, the Tommies extended their lead to 12 points, securing the win with a final score of 69-53 at Lady Beaverbrook.

Amy Plaggenhoef led the Hurricanes, scoring 20 points, while Kylee Roi led the Tommies with 19 points and was awarded player of the game.

"Tomorrow, we need to bring the same energy and aggression in order to get another win," Kylee Roi commented after the game.

The tommies will play UKC on December 3rd, while Holland will travel to Saint John to play against UNBSJ
