Chargers Fall to Mystics

Chargers Fall to Mystics

The Mystics go 2-0 on weekend play for women's ACAA basketball after coming off a solid win yesterday vs St.Thomas Tommies, the Mystics knocked off the visiting Crandall Chargers with a score of 73-39. The first half was a fairly sloppy game and low scoring for the Msytics standards. The Mystics defence was solid in the first half holding Crandall to only 11 points but struggled on the offensive end with transition and half court execution. The third quarter was more Mystics basketball as they blew the game open with a 30 - 11 point spread and entered the fourth with a 37 point lead. The Mystics bench, deeper than the Chargers allowing them to play 12 players and converted off of 35 Charger turnovers. The Chargers also missed many free throws going 3-20 from the charity stripe.

The Mystics stay in the hunt for top spot overall in the ACAA as they batttle with Mount Allison for first place. The Mystics have two games remaining, one at home next weekend on the 24th versus visiting UNBSJ Seawolves from Saint John, NB and then follow that game up up with their last regular season game against cross town rivals UKC Blue Devils at University of King's College.

The Crandall Chargers have one game remaining at home this season and it is at home against UKC on Feb 23rd.

Conference Championships are March 1 -3 at Holland College.
