The University of New Brunswick Reds played their first home game for the 2019 regular season against the St. Thomas University Tommies.  This was a re- match of last season's championship final. On this fine fall afternoon, the Reds defeating St. Thomas University Tommies 31-17 in ACAA women's rugby action in Fredericton on College Field. 

STU opened the scoring in the first half with two quick tries.  The Reds responded applying constant pressure resulted in three tries before half. At half time the Reds were up 19-10.  STU entered the second half with strong play resulting in one final try. The Reds' took control of the game in the second half with additional tries.  Scoring for the Tommies' K. Bulmon, K. Leblanc and O.Ricketts. Scoring for UNB was Faith Abel-Adegbite, Lauren Tidd, Maddie Matchett and two from Beau Greenwood-Gardner.

The next game is schedule for Sunday September 22stagainst the University of King's College in Halifax.   This will be the team's first road game of the regular season.  The Reds record is 1-0 to start the season.
