In the first match of the ACAA women's rugby 2024 season , the Holland Hurricanes edged out the Mount Allison University Mounties with a final score of 19-15. The game, held on a warm fall afternoon at the Hurricanes' home Co-Op field saw both teams battling through warm weather conditions.

The Hurricanes were led by standout performances from Annik Whiten (2 Tries)and Emily Nauss who each contributed crucial tries to secure the victory. Annie's  powerful run and Emily  sharp maneuvering allowed the Hurricanes to build a slight edge over the Mounties. 

For Mount Allison, Jenay Spence led the way with 2 tries and Skylar Harding wit 1 showcasing their resilience and determination of the Mounties.

Despite the Mounties' strong effort and competitive play, the Hurricanes managed to hold on to their slim lead, delivering a hard-fought win in this closely contested game. The victory boosts the Hurricanes' standing to 1-0 as they continue their solidity of top spot in the ACAA women's rugby standings.
