MONCTON, NB - The Crandall Chargers second half rally came up just short in their 4-3 loss to the visiting St. Thomas Tommies.
Brianna Killam, a first-year striker from Moncton, NB, opened the scoring in the 11th minute to give the Chargers the early lead. The Tommies counterd with three quick goals from Erika Swinamer in the 27th minute, Rachel Haanstra in the 35th minute and Brooklyn Saunders in the 38th minute. Swinamer added her second of the match in the 44th minute to give the Tommies a 4-1 lead going into the half.
Jamie Hicks scored on a breakaway in the 60th minute to start the Chargers rally followed by Killam's second of the game in the 90th minute. The rally came up just short when the final shot of the game sailed wide of goal to secure the Tommies win.
Crandall closes out the regular season on Sunday, Oct. 20 against UNB Saint John.
