MSVU Mystics and UKC Blue Devils both entered the game undefeated with matching 5-0 records so far this season. UKC Blue Devils continued their streak following a 3-1 win, while the Mystics dropped their first match making their record 5-1. 

The first set went back and forth until it ended 25-21 for UKC. Blue Devil Halle Andreason led the set in digs at 8 as she defended her back court from Mystic offense which was carried by their outside hitters. The second set also fell in favor of UKC with a score of 25-18. Mystic Madyson Parlee led her team with 7 kills and digs while Blue Devils Maya Lees and Katlyn Legault totaled 4 kills each by the end of the second set. 

Set number three was taken by the Mystics at 25-20. Maya Lees of the Blue Devils continued building her presence racking up 4 more kills to lead her team. On the other side the Mystic offense found energy as Mckenzie Antle took over as setter freeing up Marcy Macneil to become a swinging threat matching Catherine Macphail with 7 kills each after the third. The fourth set continued to advance these statistical leaders as momentum shifted back into the hands of the Blue Devils. The final score of the fourth set to end the game was 25–18 for UKC.
