Mystics head into Break with a Home Victory

The UNBSJ Seawolves travelled to the MSVU Mystics gym for a high energy, intense game. While the Mystics claimed the 3-0 victory the score did not adequately reflect how close the match was. The first set was back and forth, neither team was able to put up a substantial lead, ending at 25-22. Both teams spread around their offense and had consistently tough serves making the set an exciting nailbiter.

Set two started with a small lead for the Mystics but the Seawolves brought themselves back into the battle and the set continued until the Mystics pulled away to end it with 25-17. On both sides of the net huge blocks became a defensive threat which resulted in impressive scramble plays to save the ball.

The third and final set resulted in a 25-19 score after the Seawolves came back from a 12-point deficit to close the gap with Jenna Lawrence on the service line. The play continued to be impressive as Jenna Alison of the Mystics ruled the net defending against the heavy-armed Seawolves kill leader Dominique Gendron.  Both teams put up a great effort for the Mystics final game before the new year.

The Mystics head into the first half break with a 7-2 record closely behind top seeded UKC at 7-1. ACAA action returns Jan 12th weekend.
