The Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) kicked off their cross-country running season at the Mark Arendz Provincial Ski Park (Brookvale, PE) on Saturday with six schools competing in men’s and women’s team and individual competitions.
In total there were over 50 runners competing in the meet.
Mount Allison lead the women’s side solidifying the top three finishers: 1st place Teagan Stewart, (26:42.1), 2nd place Caitlin MacPherson (27:54.7) and rounding out third was Maggie Kerr (28:57.3) on the six-kilometer course. Mount Allison finished first in the team event with a point total of 13 while DAL AC was second with 34 pts followed by third place MSVU with 44 pts.
On the men’s side, Sean Finnigan (Crandall) won the race in 32:03 followed by Jack MacMillan (32:41) and Isaac McCardle (33:20) from the Mount Allison Mounties. The men’s team division went to Mount Allison with 14 pts, followed by by Crandall University 24 pts and Holland College finishing 3rd with 40 pts.
The next ACAA meet takes place on Saturday, October 2 in Church Point, Nova Scotia, hosted by the Université de Sainte-Anne Dragons.
